Po Lin Monastery - Buddha You Run 2025

Started in November, 2015, Buddha You Run is organized by Po Lin Monastery and co-organized by Ngong Ping 360 and Kwoon Chung Bus.

Regular exercise
Po Lin Monastery aims at encouraging people to take up running as part of their everyday life. Running promotes physical fitness and trains one’s mind and will. It also helps runners pursue self-betterment, and generate positive energies for themselves, their friends and families and the community. Broadly speaking running can help lessen the medical burden of the society.

18 KM (M / F)：Age 16-35，Age 36-45，Age 46-55，Age 56-65，Age 66 or above
8 KM (M / F)：Student aged 10-15, Age 16-35，Age 36-45，Age 46-55，Age 56-65，Age 66 or above
3 KM (M / F)：Student aged 16 or below，Senior aged 66 or above
3 KM (Family Group 1)：One kid aged 6 or below and one adult aged 18 or above
3 KM (Family Group 2)：One kid aged 7 - 10 and one adult aged 18 or above
3 KM (Three Generation Family Teams)：1st Generation + 2nd Generation + 3rd Generation (all are family relationship)

Children participating in the Family Run or Three Generation Family Run must complete the race independently and cannot be carried by parent during the competition.

Prizes & Souvenirs

-	All participants will be given a memento T-Shirt and other souvenirs
-	1st to 4th winners in each category will be awarded trophies or medals
-	Participant who completes the race within the designated time will be awarded a Completion medal and Certificate of Completion
-	The certificate will be available for download and print on this website two weeks after the race
-	All prizes and winners are based on official timing

Traffic Arrangements

-	18KM participant
	Departure：Chartered buses will leave from Tung Chung bus terminal from 7:15am
-	8KM participant
	Departure： Chartered bus will leave from Tung Chung bus terminal from 7:30am
-	3KM participant
	Departure： Chartered bus will leave from Tung Chung bus terminal from 8:00am or Ngong Ping360 at Tung Chung Station from 8:15am
	All participants return：Ngong Ping 360 to Tung Chung or New Lantao Bus to Tung Chung / Tai O / Mui Wo
-	Traffic fare is included in application fee
-	All participants should choose returned (both ways) traffic arrangements during the registration
-	The organizer reserves the rights to confirm final traffic arrangement
-	Accompany members need to register their traffic arrangement on Race Pack Collection Day

(Take the lift to 13/F then use staircase to 14/F)

-	Confirmation email of participant is required upon collection.
-	All participants must read carefully and agree the Important Notes, Declaration and Obligations.
-	For participant aged below 18, the completed declaration form (see below) of parent or guardian is mandatory.
-	Should a representative is collecting the race pack on participant’s behalf, an authorization letter by participant is required upon collection.
-	For those runners whose are not able to pick up the race packs during the period of 24th to 26th October, 2025.　The packs can be collected at Po Lin Monastery from 28th to 31st October, 2025. The race pack can be collected on the racing day in venue but travelling cost to venue will be on participant’s own cost.

-	Any participants who are not able to pass through the checkpoints in order will not be recognized their timing and ranking and no medal will be offered
-	Time limit will be 3 hours for CP2 at Pak Kung Au. If the participants intend to withdraw or cannot arrive to CP2 within the time limit, a bus will be arranged to take the participants to Ngong Ping.

Important Notes

-	Participants should ensure they are physically fit to participate in these races. Experienced trail runners are preferred for 18KM and 8KM participants
-	Participants should complete the designated routes
-	The registration system automatically assigns competition age groups based on the date of birth provided by the participants. Staff will verify this information when distributing the race pack.
-	The participants quota of each category is at the discretion of organizer without any dispute
-	The prize will be awarded to the winner only if there is less than 3 participants / teams in that category
-	Each participant can only take part in one category
-	For Family teams, they must pass the finishing line together, or the ranking will be based on arrival time of the last teammate
-	For the Three Generation Family Teams, the team members are necessary to be family-related. Members can be at any age, and one of the team members must be aged 18 or above. For Family teams, members must pass the finishing line together, or the ranking will be based on arrival time of the last teammate.
-	There will be no registration counter during the race date
-	The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable once an application is accepted. Category change is not allowed
-	The number bib should be pinned at the front of the running vest at visible angle
-	Transfer of number bib as well as substitution are prohibited. Violation will result in disqualification
-	Organizer cannot guarantee participant’s choices of T-shirt sizes and while stock last
-	Luggage storage service will be provided
-	Do not bring along valuables. The Organizer will not be responsible for any damage and loss of properties of participants
-	All the prizes, souvenirs and traffic arrangement cannot be redeemed for cash
-	Photo taking on the track is prohibited due to bumpy and narrow trails
-	Participants should be responsible for their own insurance coverage
-	The participant will be disqualified if he/she fails to show up at the assigned time. The returned traffic arrangement will be cancelled as well
-	All the traffic registration of accompany members must be completed on race pack collection day
-	Tung Chung Road and South Lantau Road of Lantau are prohibited zone,. Valid permit is required for motorists who drive into South Lantau
-	The Organizer reserves the right on all photos and video of this event for future uses and references
-	Should there be any disputes, the event umpire’s decision is final and conclusive. No appeal will be entertained
-	The race will be cancelled if the Red/Black Rainstorm Signal, Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or above is hoisted 12 hours before the event
-	The Organizer reserves the final right to the changes and interpretation of events regulations
-	Any changes or contingent measures for the event announced by the Organizer and posted on the Po Lin Monastery web page shall prevail. In the case of information changes of the event, the information posted on Po Lin Monastery and buddhayourun webpage by organizer shall prevail
